Larger gardens, larger jobs
Bromley is the largest London borough by area, and it shows in the gardens. Around Bickley, Chislehurst, Petts Wood and Keston you see a lot of detached houses and long plots, where people want a proper workshop, a garden room or a double shed rather than a small kit shed.
The bigger the building, the more the base matters. A garden room or workshop needs a slab sized and reinforced for its weight, and sometimes foundations rather than a simple pad. We will tell you which after we see the plot.

Beckenham, Penge and the older streets
Closer to Beckenham, Penge and Bromley town centre there are many Edwardian and Victorian houses, some terraced and some semi-detached. Access there is the problem, not the size of the job. We use the 0.8 tonne digger for those, and a tracked dumper to move spoil and concrete along the side of the house. If the passage is under 80cm, tell us and we will look at smaller options or hand-barrowing.
On the larger suburban plots the opposite applies. A wide side gate lets us bring in a 3T or 5T machine, which does a big dig-out in far less time.
A common job on these roads is a customer who has already had one quote that assumed a big machine would get in. Send us the real gate width and we will price what actually fits, even if that means a smaller digger and a bit more time. It is better to say so at the quote stage than to turn up and find the machine will not pass the gatepost.
What a day on site looks like
We arrive with the machines, strip the turf and topsoil, dig to the depth needed and compact the sub-base. On a standard base the concrete goes in the same day. For bigger slabs we will tell you in the quote if it needs more than a day.
If an old shed, garage or slab has to come out first, we break it out and take it away, and we check for asbestos before starting on anything that might contain it.
